4310 Grill Guard

That's probably it but I don't understand why the dealer would mess with putting bolts in unless they lost the pins in the hood guard kit somehow or they were not included. I have gotten some parts from JD that have had missing parts like the arm rest kit for the ol 4300 and the front gauge wheel kit for the 272 RFM. Small items but a pain to go back and get new bolts and grease zerks.

could one of you guys posy a picture of the guard. was it part of a kit or just a separate item?

The guard comes with the loader. It is essentially a stop to keep the front from being bashed in when unloading the bucket into a truck....

You can buy a hood guard as a seperate item from you local JD dealer.

I agree with everyone else that someone put bolts on
instead of the pins. From

Here's the part numbers needed from the 430 loader parts book.

key item 7 - PIN Fastener N6534DN $2.16 each
key 10 - Spring Locking Pin A15147 $0.54 each

From the parts specs, the pin is 0.5 inch diameter
1.25 inches long and 1.0 inches to hole for Spring locking
pin. I am sure you could get some comparable
parts for less at any farm store or hardware store.

Of course you could always ask your dealer to put the
right parts on
