I have a 4310 with the powerreverser tranny. My idle speed is set at 950 rpm. Is there anyway to adjust the clutch on the PTO. I am having problems taking out the shear bolt on my 513 cutter when I engage the PTO on the tractor. It engages so quickly, that the blades snapping open on the cutter are shearing the shear bolt about every other time.
Cutting three acres of grass, I went through 10 shear bolts. I checked on a clutch assembly from Deere, but $280.00 seems a little steep to me. On my older MF, with hydro tranny, I can push in the clutch on the tracter, engage the rear PTO, then let the clutch out slowly to engage the PTO, but not on the 4310, when you pull up the knob for the PTO, it engages instantly, even if the tractor clutch is pushed in.
I have looked at less expensive clutches from other suppliers, but it seems to me that I shouldn't have to that expense if I can get the PTO to engage a little less agrressively.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
DT
