RockyRidge , I think I stated in my original post that I was responsable for the 50 since I have 47 on it now ,my concern is it should be done again at 100 instead of the 200 mark as in the manual. I think it is more impotant to do it at 100 now that it has been apart than it was at 50 since it was manufactured in a clean environment . I would guess the cost at around $75.00 for fluid and filters and thats with my labor and no dealer labor cost.
I am just glad that I don`t have 60 hrs and had just completed a change . The truth is as carfull as the tech is useing a clean drain pan its most likely gonna sit in that pan under a bench or in a corner for a few days ,not the best scenario in my opinion.
Jerry G . I understand what you are saying but within factory spec does not mean it doesn`t have ware ,and how does a rebuilder know it was out of a well cared for unit ,it could be out of a high hour unit that never had the fluid changed.
I don`t think there are a lot of ware parts in a hydro ,probably more seals than anything but there is something that is alowing it to stick in forward.
5030 The fact that it is covered by there warrenty will not do me a lot of good I will probably only put 50 hrs a year on it so I am looking at 200 -250 hrs at the end of my 2 year period ,hardly enough of a test. my usage is also fairly easy ,I use my loader for lifting or moveing things around ,mowing ,brush hogging ,not a lot of hard use .I have a backhoe loader that I do my hard work with.
I do collision work for a liveing ,I work in a dealership so I see both service and the bodyshop end .If you wreck your car today and it is more than a year old or under a year old with out of warranty milage ,most insurance co. specify used or aftermarket parts . Not the same situation here but similar .A salvage part is very seldom nicer than what you take off , remember its most times off of a wrecked car ,you may get a right front cut from a car thats hit on the left .that means what is on the right is usually bent, twisted or dented .yes it gets twisted back ,dents ,dings fixed but its not the same as what you had .bumpers ,headlights, grills, have chips scrathes and nicks . Try and sell a car that was wrecked ,you will sell it but you won`t get as much .
If I was buying a tractor that had a puked hydro and I had to fix it ,I would be happy with a remanned part ,but I would only do this if I was gonna be in the tractor for less than I could buy a good used one for . If there were 2 used 4310s ,one was split and fixed ,the other never touched which would you choose?
I hope I get lucky and get a new part ,if I don`t I have to live with what they give me ,will I be happy with remanned? NO! will the tractor work and function like the piece of equipment that it is ,I am sure it will . Will they get my money in the future ,probably not.
I was getting gas the other day across from my dealer and noticed kubota vs. deere . there were 6 or 7 compact deeres and about 12 kubotas out front and 12 out back .maybe they like selling kubota more.
