Just got the unit I traded in my 4100 for and it has a few issues i want to resolve.

1) Anyone have the Technical manual for a 4310 and can tell me where the lines run for the back lights on the ROPS? I got on side out and it is definitely not getting power as the bulbs work on the other side. I want to trace the wires back to see where the power stops. I orderd the CD ROM version and it is on its way, but I wanted to see if I could get some info on it prio to the TM arriving.:)

2) Also, the infamous 4310 stuck tilt wheel issue:confused: is also present and if anyone has any ideas on dislodging the stuck steering whell, please let me know!

Thanks

You can have one side working and the other out with a bad ground. Check for a good ground first.

Dirtworksequip thanks, Will do.

Hey BTW, I was out plowing and discovered my blades edge was not level. Is that a turn it over or is that a go get it leveled:confused:

I tired adjusting the hydraulics but no good. This is a Frontier blade on the front of my loader arms. First time I have used one of these a bit different but I can see the utility when I do some other projects in the future.:)

Nuru, the tilt wheel can sometimes be freed up by putting strong, steady pressure on the lever while jerking fore and aft on the steering wheel with a medium amount of force. You do need to be careful of pulling to hard on the lever since it is made of plastic. The reason they get stuck is either infrequent use or sometimes people pull themselves up by the steering wheel which puts alot of stress on the notches that hold the tilt mechanism. If it won't free up, it will probably need to be disassembled and any damaged parts will need replacing. On your cutting edge, does it look like it is worn uneven? If so, then reversing it should help. With the blades that hook onto the loader, sometimes just adjusting the angle of the bucket cylinders makes a big difference in the blade, especially if you have the blade angled left or right. Straight ahead is not an issue.

Got the light issue resolved, it was a pulled connector,. The light is working now. The issue with the blade was not the tires as I checked the inflation on all of them and they are all correct. I will put the bucket back on to see if the issue is on the loader arms or if it is on the Blade. If that does not tell me anything, i will probably get my local dealer to handle it on the checkout visit I am planning to have soon. i will try reversing the blade edge to see if that helps. This is a new blade so i hope that it is just that I got an edge that is bad and reversing will resolve the issue:confused:. I will reverse the blade first to see if that resolves it.If that does not, then i go to the bucket and see if that lies level, then that will isolate it to the blade.

The blade is brand new, but I flipped it anyway, and initially that appeard to make the blade's air gap onger but shallower. Later after I had to stand on the blade to take a look at something on the tractor, I noticed that the blade was level on the floor? i plan to have my local dealer pick it up and go through it with a spring service and change belts, filters, ..etc.

One thing to remember when using any blade is to try and alternate which way you angle the blade. Don't always angle to the left. It will wearout faster on that side. You want to give each side equal wear, so you have to alternate which way you angle when plowing. You may have to run on the wrong side of the road, but this will give you a more even wear on the cutting edge.

Thanks dirtworks, Well I looked at the blade this morning and it is still uneven. I guess I did not have enough light when I last looked.

Goin to the dealer today, and they will look at it and a few otherr things for me, and insure the 4310 is ready for the spring summer season. It will cost me about $500, but by Friday, the tractor, the MMM, and the blade will ready to go.

that is some good advice, as I wore down my blade on my 4100 quicker, in the past by not doing that.
