4310 with 4210 R4s?

Actually the 4310 has a longer wheelbase which will
make it take more room to turn.

Longer wheelbase more stable with loader and helps
smooth out bumps in your ground.

I have a bigger Kubota TLB and I wanted something
smaller to get around my trees etc.

I know it has been a long time since this question was asked about tractor size and lot size. We have a neighbor that has a class III NH Boomer and his lot is only about 1-1.5 acres! He rarely ever uses it. The most use it ever sees is in the winter. During the rest of the year he may use it maybe once or twice. Most of the time it sits in his garage.

I agree with rockyridgefarm and chief,

Get the largest tractor you possibly can, remember one other option with the 4310, the PowerReverser /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif you will love that option. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Dimensions are only 6.3 inchs wider and 3 inchs longer /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif if you can live with them.

Get the 4310, more power, essentially the same size, not much more money for a lot more tractor. Last year I considered doing the exact same thing (4210 tires on a 4310) to lower the center of gravity. This sure would make the tractor more stable. I needed to mow a 2000' long levy amongst other things. Since the 4310 was about the same hp as my NH I opted for a smaller B2410. You have a great idea, talk it over with your dealer.

The 3 inches is all in wheelbase though, which makes a bigger
change in "turnability" then it would appear.

The 4210's made after some point in December also have the
larger 4310's implement pump.

Just my two cents worth, on my 4210 with R3's the front tires appear to be a little undersized, appearance wise, but they have to be smaller to clear the MMM because of the shorter wheelbase.
I think if you put the 4210 tires on a 4310 they would appear even more undersized. Oh yes, and my sales brochure lists the overall minimum width of the 4210 as 56.3 inches while the 4310/4410 are listed as 50 inches. That CAN'T be right.

JD Specs for all kinds of things in the manuals don't differentiate
between tires!

I think the minimum width for the 4210 is with R4s or R3s that
do not allow wheel tread width changes.

With the R1's on either tractor you could flip them, switch
L and R and even move the center section to narrow the tractor
down to 50". Why anyone would I don't know unless your crops
are planted at some weird distance or you have to get the tractor
through some kind of gate...
