Hello all. My 5 months old 4320 is approaching 50 hrs on the meter. I figured time to check the owners manual for initial service requirements and pick up the filters and oil. I was surprised to find JD specifies 200 hrs for first engine oil/filter change and 400 hrs for hydraulic oil and filter change. Are most 4X20 owners going by the book for initial service?

I have a 3320 and just changed the oil and filter at 50 hours. It is cheap and should be done.

Look under the hood. There is a sticker that states service intervals and the first should be at 50 hours which is different than the manual.

Good suggestion -- will check the sticker under the hood. Will also check with mechanic at the JD dealer. Thanks.

The decal under the 4320 hood specifies doing the initial engine oil and filter change at 50 hours. So, I will do it at 50 hrs instead of 200 hrs as the Operator's Manual indicates.

The decal also calls for changing the hydraulic oil/filter at 400 hour mark which matches what the Operator's Manual says. Is this what most of you folks do?

Yes, first oil & filter change is at 50 hours. The manual for my 2005 JD 4320 then says to change the oil & filter annually thereafter (doesn't say at 200 hours.) This week I also did the first change (at 400 hours) of the hydraulic oil (used the low viscosity JD Hy-Gard as recommended), hydraulic oil filter, fuel filter, and cleaned the hydraulic oil suction screen element. Working on this engine is a pleasure for these service items because it provides good clearance access to the service area.

Thanks for the info. Good news about easy to work on. I really like the tractor and am always looking for reasons to get it out and do work with it. I'll get that first engine oil/filter change done this week.
