I have a 44 snowblower and was having some problems with the belts slipping. I Changed the belt and added a snow shield for the belt. With a few inches of snow the shield worked great. The belt area was clear of snow/ice.
looks like a nice quick solution to your belt problem,
with any luck, it will protect those idlers as they go bad
very quick being horizontal and exposed to the elements.
I replaced that little pulley last year and that might of had something to do with wear on that belt. If you look close I drilled 2 holes in the pulley to drain the water out of it.

Thank you for your 2 posts! I'll probably by buying an X310 and this snow blower and I'll plan to make your two mods right away. Please tell me what material you used for the shield. Have you any other recommendations?
Now I know why it looked familiar to me! Thanks the kind of belting used by my cousin on his farm to transport a feed & silage mix to a long feed trough for his steers. What a good material for your snow shield! Thank you.
