440v 3 phase in residential shop

There is no limit to what you can do if you throw enough money at it. You do not provide enough info to help. HP is what drives up the cost. Under 3 HP a couple used single phase motors may be the economic route.

My 35 ton machine is 3 hp, the 50 ton and the Lathe are 5 hp.
I run all three on the one $45. phase converter.
