My 4410 will be here within the next couple days. I am already planing what needs to be done.

One questions I have is will the 430 loader or 3 pt lift or both handle a round hay bale? Will they each handle one at the same time? And will it do either safely?

TIA

If the round bale doesn't exceed the weight of the lift capacity of the FEL, it will lift it. All round bales are not created equal nor are the machines that make them. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I don't mean to be a smart a$$, here either. You asked.

I believe the 3pt has more capacity and will lift heavier bales than the FEL. There again---------yadda yadda /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Your dealer might know. I have the bale spear hole in my forks frame, and am impressed how much the forks will lift. However, I had a 4' boulder just about off the ground the other day, but no further. I also tried to off load a pallet of bricks for my neighbor with the forks - not even close. I do stack green wh. oak firewood on pallets, and I can lift those (making a pallet for small wood today, out of three pallets, and will see how that goes).

Bet you are getting excited.

I can't wait. It's killing me. I haven't slept, ate, moved since Friday when I bought it.

My main concern is it will pickup at least one round bale of hay. There is a guy within a mile that sells the bales and it would be handy to go get a couple.

Seems to me you have the capacity to pick them up at least with the 3pt. Balance might be an issue but it'll probably be OK if you keep the FEL on, keep the load low, and don't take any huge hills. 3pt spikes are pretty cheap, you can get them for around $180.

I can carry almost any round bale on my 3point. That is with loaded fronts, loader on, and R1 ags set full wide.

I can handle SMALL round bales on the front. It is almost a must to have one on the rear, for ballast. I have bales made smaller, and this works well. I am sure I am not getting as much hay for my money, but I am happy with the results.

As for flat ground I do have some, but it is under my house... There is a reason I go by rockyridge... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
