Bought a 4410 with hydrostatic transmission last month with 35 hours on it. Was told most those hours were spent on the back hoe. I now have 60 hrs and have a problem when doing laoder work. Every now and then, when I push down either the forward or backward pedal from standstill nothing happens (tractor does not move), only the light on the right fender referring to the manual will blink. When this did happened I was in the seat, so it should not be the seat switch, and it was after at least an hour on the tractor. Turn off the tractor and start it again ( like a reboot on my old computer!), and things are fine again. When I called the dealer the first time this happened, I was told this is normal. Now that this has happened a number of times (last time on the road, trying to get out of the way of a speeding car) I have a hard time believing this is "normal".
Anybody having similar experiences, or explanations?

I would be upset with a dealer that even suggested that tractor shutting down in the middle of a job, or in the middle of a bad situation as being NORMAL !!

I have a 4710 and have had the same problem. The blinking light on the fender is a code of slow and fast blinks to help service tech.'s find problems. I wrote down the pattern - called my dealer - relayed code - he said that it was the calibration in the e-hydro - sent a mechanic the next day to re-calibrate the ehydo - no problems since. My dealer "Snead Ag" is an hour away but thus far has been Johnny-on-the-spot for all my service needs.

Also, if you step on both forward and reverse pedal at once the e-hydro will stop working but should reset after 7 seconds without turning the tractor off.

My employer had a tractor with these same symptoms. The guy working on it said Deere had put out a solution to it recently. In his case, the controller was replaced and it has been working fine since.

I too have experienced the stopping with hitting both pedals at once, but I have never had it take up to 7 seconds to reset. As soon as I let both pedals back up, I could hit the correct one again and go immediately. If you watch the error code light, it will start blinking when both pedals are depressed, but should stop blinking right away when both pedals are let up.

Re: same problem with 4610

I was looking on this board just to see if others have had this problem... I have experienced the same problem with my new 4610. Really makes me mad when it happens. I only have 8 hours on it now and it has happened 4 or 5 times. It seems to only happen after I have been sitting still for some period of time. It goes back to the dealer to have the rear hydraulics put on next week. I hope they can fix it then.

I have also had a problem with the cruise control kicking out sometimes for no reason. Am I the only one?

Re: same problem with 4610

Don't know if this will help or not, but, when I got my 110,if you were driving over rough ground and you were "bouncing" on the seat, the seat safety switch would activate and would in turn stop the machine,I would have to let off the pedal and then press again.I know its not the safest thing to do,but I jumped the safety for the seat and have had no problems since.

My new 4310, picked up around middle of October, only hesitates if I push both pedals at once. This only lasts for maybe a second or two. Actually, I'm glad that it hesitates because I don't won't to inadvertently go in the wrong direction. This could be crazy dangerous. A hydrostatic can not pump in both directions simultaneously.

Keep us posted if your dealer is able to remedy the situation and what is causing it. Hopefully, you get it fixed. Also, if the problem is mechanically or electronically related it is hard to tell.

I believe that if you push the ehydro go pedal too fast that it is designed to not move. I was told at the dealer that this is a safety feature to prevent inadvertently launching the tractor unintentionally due to mistakenly stepping on the pedal while mounting the tractor. There are also some fixes/upgrades for these tractors. Check with your dealer to see if your tractor needs it.
