445 JohnDeere Rpm Hunting

I have had a rpm hunting problem on my 445 for quite some time and decided to do something about it. Complete service All filters plugs etc.Seems to be quite a bit better but only runs at a constant rpm at idle or wide open. Anyplace in the rpm range it hunts and this is driving me crazy. Any ideas would be appreciated. I also check for fuel blockage and have on occasion used an injector cleaning additive to the fuel. Engine has just over 500 hrs.

G'day it sounds like you have got worn govenor linkages or it may have a light spring on the govenor rod to take out any slackness it may be broken. Good luck

Thanks for your input Jon. Are you talking about the external linkage that runs the butterfly. Also I didn't mention before that my engine is fuel injected 22 hp Kawasaki Engine.
