John Deere 4320
I've searched the forum but haven't seen anyone with this issue. I have a 2011 4320 and I recently purchased a frame mounted 448 backhoe. I took off the 3 point arms and installed the brackets which stay on the tractor to which the backhoe attaches. Well, I've taken off the backhoe for the first time so I could use some 3 point attachments. The problem is as I was trying to put the 3 point arms back on the lower pins, I found that one of the backhoe mounting brackets is big enough that it interferes and does not allow enough room to slip the end of the arm and ball over the lower pin. So, does anyone out there have a 4320 with a 448 backhoe? If so, have you had this issue?
Thanks!

It is tight but typically will go on. The lower draft arms need to be installed at an angle before feeding the draft arm onto the lower hitch pin. Worst case remove the hitch pin bolts (m804490) from the trans and pull the hitch pin away. Put the draft arm onto the loose hitch pin and re-install onto trans. Once you have done that try to remove the draft arm, this gives you a reference point for the angle required to install. Good luck, it should work.

I had the same problem on my 4120. I now sit on the floor to have good control of the arm. With the arm roughly parallel with the tractor I'll twist the arm slightly and roll the ball on to the pin. It looked like it just wouldn't fit the first time I tried it but once you see it work it's easy. I never had to loosen the hitch pin. I also marked the left and right side arms and lift linkage to avoid having to figure which side is which. On a side note I found that using a floor jack under the backhoe makes install and removal a lot easier - still might need tractor hydraulics but the jack really helps.

Wow, this site is awesome! I've received many welcomes and instant replies to my questions. I hope I can be as helpful to someone someday.
As for my current issue, I looked at pulling that lower pin off, but was conerned as I didn't know if I could create another problem. Then I spent time twisting and turning the arm in almost every position, but I couldn't get it to slip over the pin. So, I called the dealer where I bought my tractor and talked to a friendly and helpful mechanic name Rory. I asked if there were different brackets for the backhoe. I told him I bought the backhoe from a gentleman who had it on a 4520 and I have a 4320. He said the brackets are the same for the 4x20 series. I explained my problem and said that it looked like I needed to grind/cut off about 1/4" of non-load bearing material off the lower mount bracket. He said sometimes they have had to "massage" parts when they are installing such equipment. So I loosened some fasteners and pulled the lower brackets out and spent about a 1/2 hour with a grinder and took off some material off the inside edge, repainted the pieces and reinstalled them. Now I can remove and reinstall the arms with ease!
Thanks again!

I have a 2009 john deere 4320 and want to install a 448 backhoe. Does anyone know the mounting brackets I need for the tractor. When I call the dealer they just seem to be lost.

The 448 parts list shows LVB25568 as the side plate kit for the 4020 series tractors.
