450B Forward but no reverse

I have a 450B I have owned for over a decade now. Been a great little machine when I need it. Recently I was grading a septic system I installed and had the reverse quit working. The machine goes into the forward gear fine, but will not go into reverse. I have taken the pin out of the valve body on top of the trans under the seat and manually moved it back and forth. I am able to pull this pin all the way out *not sure if this is normal. The out position should be reverse and the pushed in should be forwards. Hi/low work fine as well. Has plenty of fluid, and inspection of the fluid reveals no telltale signs. Any suggestions before I start pulling this thing down without direction?

That happened to my 450E. Dealer said bolts loosen on these old machines and lets water in. Usually reverse pays for it.

It looks like ill be taking the valve box off shortly, ill def keep that in mind. hope thats not the case
