451 w/ 1040 loader question

Just bought tractor, was well taken care of but seller did not have tractor long and did not know if this was correct set up: In order for FEL to operate, control lever has to be tied back or it will return to forward position and loader won't move (first pic) Second pic shows where lever connects to rod at hydraulics with control lever forward and FEL not working, third pic shows rod position w/ lever pulled back and loader working. Should nuts on rod be adjusted to hold lever back?, other info appreciated.

Before you go adjusting things.

Go to your dealer and have him order you a new remote end cap. Where the hose is attached in the first picture. Hose goes to loader spool.



Then you need a hydraulic 90 and a tee. Make the left side of the remotes look like the second picture. Top line goes to loader.



Pictures are of a 471. Hope this helps.

Here's a better picture of the second view. This setup will allow you to use the loader at any time and have both remotes free.
