4510 field installed mid pto

I emailed JD about adding a mid pto to my 01 4510. They replied that it was not possible. I just found the sales guide that shows a field installed independant mid pto, part number LVB25272. I went to JDparts and found the part exists but has been discontinued. Any idea where to look now? I would like to add a mid mount mower to my tractor.

I'd go to your local dealer and see if he can find one in another Dealer's inventory.

Discontinued? That's rather disappointing... Deere is supposed to be so good at maintaining inventory for discontinued products. I think I'd raise a bit of Cain with Deere Corporate on this.

You should try calling your dealer. According to what I am seeing, there should be 27 in stock in Augusta, along with several dealers that are showing stock.

I just installed one on my 4610(same as the 4510). The dealer had no trouble getting it and it was not hard to install. The mower, a 72" 7iron, was a bit of a trick. You have to replace the front lift brackets that come with the kit with 10 series brackets. The ones in the kit are for the 20 series tractors.

I am pretty sure that part number is a whole goods not replacement part number. These show up as discontinued even when they are current at JDParts. They aren't parts 0 they are options.

Thanks for the info. I guess the important thing is that adding one is possible. I guess now I just need a lawn to mow.

KTM, they are right 27 in Augusta, 1 up north.$476.00 list
It is a wholegood, not a part, see your salesman with that LVB25272 number.

I just had one installed on my 4310. The P/N is discontinued but my dealer called John Deere and they had two of them. They shipped it out and he installed it. The part/kit was $410 and labor was $240. It looks to be a rather complex install. They had to break open the tranny, removed the soft plugs, slide the gear in and replace the oil.

BTW - My dealer said the Kit was dicontinued but all parts were available as seperate P/N's for repair work.
