4520 vs 5203 (Both 4WD)

What do you think you would not be able to do with the 4720?

One thing for sure - pull a batwing. 4720 is pretty light compared to my 5525. I sure like the HST on the 4720. The power reverser is not bad at all. I have not driven a 5x03.

The bigger diameter tires WILL ride better in a bumpy field.

The 4720 does not lack HP, it does lack mass when compared so you need to decide which will be best for 90% of your chores. Tough decision...

I was quoted $27,500 for a 5203 MFWD and 522 and bale spear 2 months ago, so that seems to be a bang up price. Where are you buying? I might need to see if they'll ship to Llano.

I talked to "my guy" today, just to let him know I was ready to buy if he found me the right deal. I'm really leaning toward the 5203, unless something really sweet comes up on a 4720. Maybe even a 5303.

Still on the same tilt. It seems that there's no perfect tool for the job. It's still up in the air between the 4720 and a 5203. They both have advantages and disadvantages. Maybe I should just buy them both (I wish.)

I'm now considering a 5203 MFWD w/out the loader and then going in halves on a skid steer with my father in law. The best of both worlds?

Chip, I finally got mine last Wednesday. They had to go to Oklahoma to get it. They told me they couldn't find one anywhere close to trade and to wait for delivery from Deere would be sometime in June 08. It had 2 hours on it when it got to my place.

But I must tell you it's a great tractor with the 522 Loader and the MFWD.:D

Plus, from what you said, you got it for a steal. I just priced a 5203 MFWD w/ 522 again at around $27.5k.

Would you mind posting a couple of pics of your machine?

I believe my dealer in Ennis, Texas has them in stock. I am going to look at a gator today and the 467 baler they snagged for me. I'll see what they have in stock.

Have you checked with Clark Tractor and Supply in DeLeon and Comanche? They have both the 5203's and 5303's in stock.

My local dealers didn't seem to think getting one would really be a problem.
