4520... which tiller (iMatch question as well)

I'm finally getting around to seriously considering another implement for my '12 4520.... namely a rototiller. It will be a real luxury to do a few gardens, and start growing in part of an old field (I've not attempted it with my old Troy Built Horse).

I'm thinking either a 6' (especially if I go Deere or Frontier), or maybe 7' if I go Tarter or something like that.

My big question is which are iMatch compatible? I've read here some of the King Kutters (older ones?) are not compatible.

I'm in the Adirondacks - lots of glacial till (round rocks). They are my best crop

I'd be curious what anyone with a similar machine and ground has experienced with different tillers (for the little use it will get I'm not sure the $ are really worth spending for the Deere 673, but I'd rather by 1 Deere than 3 King Kutters...).

I've found that it doesn't take much redneck jury-rigging to get the attachments iMatch compatible.
And I'd be surprised if the 6' ones are not already compatible, or real close to it.

Check out my video I just made of my King Kutter tiller attached to iMatch hitch. If you wear out 3 of these tillers I'll eat my hat!

My tiller is around a 2006 model. It works with my iMatch hitch perfectly. Just back up, hook and go! The tiller is very heavy and tough. Runs smooth and digs great!

I use the 673 with IMatch on my 4520. In most cases the economy pto works well without straining. I have hit plenty of rocks in the southern rocky mountains, so far it has held up pretty well for the last 6 years. I do quite a bit of tilling and if I had it to do over again I would also consider the 681 tiller as well.

I have heard lots of good things about King Kutter also.

I'm leaning towards a 7' model at this point, mostly for as they seem to be built heavier, and have higher ratings on their gearboxes.

As much as I like Deere and Frontier, I'm seriously looking at King Kutter and especially Tarter given the amount I'll likely use it.

I had a king mutter 6 foot that I used on my place that was real rocky any I wore the teeth out real fast.those rocks beat it to pieces.I started using a lowery multi plow with the spring teeth and hard surfaced them.I don't use the tiller much anymore.thats just my experience those rocks are tough on tillers and ur ears!

Ouch! Must have been a lot of rocks! Yeah tillers and rocks don't mix! Neither does tillers and t steel fence posts! Don't ask me how I know that. (0:

Do you have any idea how many acres of rocky ground you tilled to wear the teeth down?

I ask because my experience has been a slow wearing of the tines but I have tilled quite a few multi acre jobs with small rocks to two arm sized. I have tilled about 25 to 35 acres of ground with multiple passes and will soon need to replace the tines. Some of it is sandy loam but in the mountains you still find a lot of rocks too. Would like to get a handle on the cost/acre for tine replacement.

Can you just resharpen them?
