Good morning,

Any help is appreciated. I have a 2019 4520C with 26 hrs. It has dealer installed top and tilt. The factory installed remotes developed a large leak the first day I used the box blade and was fixed by the dealer. The dealer says they also topped off the hydraulic fluid since a bunch was lost with the leak. Tractor was fine after that.

This am I hooked up to the box blade and the side tilt cylinder would not move. It would twitch in either direction but that's it. Nothing visible in the sight glass by PTO on rear. There is an orange cap marked oil on the rear of the tractor and a red cap marked oil on the right side of the engine. Neither has a dipstick and I can see gears when I remove the red cap.

My hydraulic top link, 3 pt and loader work fine.

Any ideas why the tilt cylinder wont work? Where do I add hydraulic fluid? How do I check motor oil level? I'm still looking but I figured I would ask you guys too. Thanks in advance. 20190714_075010.jpg20190714_075115.jpg20190714_075010.jpg20190714_075020.jpg20190714_075030.jpg

Looks like it's low on the hydraulic fluid for some reason and the pump is pulling air, hence the slightly twitch on either direction without any real movement. Have you noticed any further leaks after you got it back from the dealer?

To fill the hydraulic fluid that's also the transmission fluid, you fill through the fill port on the rear. That orange thingy on the 4th picture you showed.

To check the engine oil, the dip stick is near the engine oil filter, it should be painted yellow. To fill the engine with oil, is that orange/red cap on the last picture.

Thank you for the reply. The PTO shroud is a little wet. Not sure if that was from hooking up top n tilt after they worked on it or not. I will add fluid and see if it helps.

Many hydraulic fluids are clear, making it hard to see if the sight glass is covered or clear. If it's covered already you could overfill it. I'm pretty sure the factory oil in mine was clear.
You could park the tractor facing slightly uphill and see if there is a visible level line in the sight glass. That'd tell you that the level is indeed low. The dealer would have to be really incompetent to say they topped it off yet left it very low.

Even if it's a bit low on fluid the pump should not be sucking air. It'd have to be really low for that to happen. It's more likely that either there's air in the cylinder or the quick connects are not fully seated. To get rid of air in the cylinder, just operate it a bunch of times. I'd try reseating the quick connects first. Sometimes you can get them to appear to be connected but they're really not. If you have not used them before, it's normal for them to lose about a half teaspoon of oil when disconnected.

The engine oil dipstick is on low on the right side of the engine near the back, just to the rear of the fuel filter. Mine has a series of lines with no notations. I keep the level between the top two lines.

The owner's manual shows where to add oil and where the dipstick is. The Branson manuals are not the best written ones but they're functional.

With the hoses twitching I would almost put money on one of the quick connects not being fully seated,
shut the tractor down, cycle the operating levers a couple of times then disconnect the quick connects and reconnect them being sure to get them fully and securely seated.

I disconnected all 4 quick connects, wiped everything dry back there. Reconnected everything. Added fluid until it came up to the red dot in the sight glass. Started the tractor and checked the sight glass. The level dropped to about 1/3 in sight glass. Checked for drips around quick connects. I found a couple drips, wiped them. Operated loader, 3 pt. and top n tilt. I made a couple passes with the box blade and checked the sight glass. The fluid was at least to the top of the glass if not past it. It also looked a little milky. I wiped a couple more drips off of the quick connects and shut the tractor off.

I walked by a few minutes later. No drips and the fluid in the sight glass looked less milky. Same level though. Weird. Thanks for the help guys.
