Ok, so I've had the same problem for a while. Went down last Friday, and a friend helped me get it running again Sunday. It started when I installed a push button start after another friend said his friend in Texas has had issues with his Mahindra ignition switches so he adds them to all his now. One wire from battery, and one to the small lug on the starteer (ignition). Started up and I danced for joy after not having a start from the seat option for a year.

So I called the wife over to show her to try it and NOTHING. We checked all the fuses, checked the relay, and swapped out the solenoid (again) and finally swapped out the battery. We got it to start. Fast forward to Wednesday and I tried to jump the solenoid again and got nothing but bendix spinning. Maybe 15 times? Then nothing. I get 12v at the positive solenoid lug, and 12 across the 2 lugs. Also get 12v at the ignition lug with key on. Ignition fuse is good, new relay from Bill's installed today (I ordered it last week before we got it running) even though the other tested good Sunday (checked with battery cables and heard click). So I'm not sure what to check next. This thing has been a headache to keep starting for some time now and I'd like to figure out why it keeps giving me issues.

I get some small sparks across the 2 solenoid lugs still, but nothing to make the Bendix spin. Could I have fried the brand new solenoid yet again? No levers were moved between the time I had the bendix spinning and when it stopped so pretty sure it wouldn't be a safety switch, although anything is possible. Willing to try anything at this point short of a .50 cal through the engine. :)

I have the 4035 model. I was having starting issues, ran through all the normal stuff. Finally in frustration, I gripped the key shook it hard as I was starting and it bumped around and then cranked over and started. I ordered a new ignition switch and when it showed up it was either after market or a redesign. Installed it, perfect fit, no splicing, etc. it has started every time since the install without a hitch and a side benefit my glow plug is working again.
Too easy, $18 - I am fortunate I suppose.

I wish that would have worked, but nothing when wiggling the ignition. I'd still like to get it started even though I'm looking at a new 4540 while the APRs are still low. Wife wants to use it for a trade but I'd like it as a backup or one I could keep the bucket on and bush hog while I keep the hay forks on the other with the harrows or arena drag.

You've probably already been there but clean the battery terminals thoroughly as well as the inside of the clamps. Be sure they are tightened securely. Follow the ground wire to the frame and be sure it has good contact as well. If you've not done so, have the battery load tested - even if it's new. It's unlikely that's the problem but it would be good to eliminate it as such. Sometimes it's the simple stupid things we overlook.
