Hi

Well, I got back from the dealer today with my 455AWS. The dealer said that they fixed the oil leak in the transmission. After about an hour of use with the 455, it started leaking again. Very disapointed and frusterated as this dealer usually offers great service and advice. I will be taking her back to the dealer tommorrow for them to try and fix properly. If they can't fix it, then the 455 will be sold. Hate to sell it, but if they can't fix the problem, I don't feel like repairing it each time that I cut the grass. We will see what happens. Take Care Jason B

Hmm... that is aggravating! Hopefully, the dealer will nail the problem down the 2nd time around... and I sure hope they stand behind their work and roll up their sleeves on their own dime this time!

Most 455 posters on TBN have had great service from their "Yammy" powered lawn monsters. Should the dealer "git 'er done" this time --- maybe you'll be on here sharin' that just cut "green grass" smell with the rest of us!!

Keep us posted.

Hi

I sure hope they do get it fixed right! All this 455 has been doing for it's life so far has been cutting grass( both with previous owner and me). I have an Agco Allis 1920H( Simplicity Sunstar) that has taken more abuse then the 455, and it has never had any transmission leaks at all yet. Same with a 1918 Ultima that came out of a chicken barn. I will tell you, if they can't fix it, then it will be sold for either another Agco Allis 1920H, or even a Simplicity Legacy with Diesel engine. We will see what happens though. Take Care Jason B

Did you ever get this problem resolved. I have a 455 AWS that is leaking from the left side of trans housing near the back but could not locate exact source. Wondering how expensive it will get.
Thanks,
Doug

The 455 I sold had 2000 hours on it and never leaked a drop of anything. Super tractor for lawn work. I wonder if it has anything to do with it being an all wheel steer ? Sometimes those oil leaks travel from the most remote places. Good luck second time around.

Doug,

My X595 had the same leak, the tranny is about the same as yours. It took them three tries (thankful under warranty) to repair it. The problem? The center casting had a factory defect that was painted over! Slight stress would open the defect and leak hydraulic oil. The axle would cool down and nobody could find the leak.
