stumbled on to a jd 458 round baler very low bales an nice price.it has the monitor an netwrapp.thinking about adding it to the farm as a 2nd baler.so what are yalls thoughts good an bad on the 458 balers.

I suppose you understand a 458 only will make a maximum 5 ft tall(diameter) bale??

yes we are looking at it because brother likes the netwrapp.an thinks that we could use it to bale our extra hay that will be carried over to next year.plus we will be putting up 2 4 by 5s to 1 5 by 6 bales

Our neighnor has a 458 he pulled off the lot. I bet that thing has 20000 bales. To my knowledge he hasn't had any major problems.

we decided we didnt need to buy that baler.as we bought another new tractor.
