Checking back in, you still have the tooth in the middle and only added ones in between. So maybe it wasn't the tooth in the middle but more the GAP?........? You did nice dentistry though!

Without a doubt, the 6" gap was too far. I've done a lot of digging with it this summer and I am good to go with it.

Nice Mod Gizmo. I have the 13" bucket so I don't have this issue. With the soil in my area, I sometimes wish I went with the 9" bucket. Thankfully, the Brotek ripper is really great for loosening up dense soil. However, changing back and forth isn't exactly a 5 minute job.
