Friend of mine just bought a 4600 with 1300 hrs on it. It was a corporate auction-major govt. contractor. Excellent turfs, slightly faded, smashed hood-obviously they had picked up some bulky object and it came back over onto hood.
So today he asked me to try it out at his shop and he had a pile of graded base for me to do some repairs with in yard (3/4"crushed stone and dust-about the heaviest stuff you can get) . this thing starts right up but had been parked for like a year. Trans fluid looked good, clear and bright. I think the fwd/rev peddles need lube as it would continue to creep when you backed off pedal. Also plenty of power pushing in to the pile but backing out you would get a metalic grating sound- and very poor response. I'm thinking this is a hanging brake issue? Much worse in second range than in low.
Could use the individual brakes, they work but thinking they are hanging- again will push into pile but reverse is the issue.
As always appreciate any input.
