467 Round Baler Blowing hyd ram seal on belt tension cylinder

I've owned 2 JD 467 balers and haven't repacked any of the tension cylinders(50,000 bales on both balers) Who is rebuilding the cylinders? Is cyl. rod bent a little? At what psi is the baler gauge after bale core is formed??
A hydraulic shop bale gauge is a little over half not quite 3/4 JD mechanic seems to think blockage no oil getting to other ram. But i checked it today doesn't seem to be any blockage to other ram. Is there supposed to be an orafice in live side hydraulics that hook to tractor parts book shows one mechanic said it is not needed. I have had this baler 2 years it started this season ram rod is in good shape.

The orifice(parts key #29) you're referring to where male coupler attaches to hose is designed to slow tail gate operation down. I have removed it on my 467. IMHO this isn't causing the problem your hyd cyl leakage problem. Where is your baler hyd gauge setting while baling after a bale core is formed??

Bale gauge is a little past halfway when a full bale is formed. where should gauge be reading when bale first starts forming. John Deere Mechanic said distribution block was not sending fluid to both sides. so I swapped cylinders and it still leaks on other side so it is getting fliud. I uess it has a bent rod but I don't see how there could be that much tension to bend a 1' ram. I uess i will either order new one or find a used one. Either way I will need this week. I like the 467 better than the 2 457's I had.

I've only seen/worked on one 457 and I'll take a 467 any day. I run my gauge bumping the red line. I wonder if the correct cylinder repair kit was used in the rebuilds?

I'm not sure it was not done at John Deere shop it was a hydraulic shop. My serial number is Eoo467X300435 I took cylinder apart on other side it is built different it has snap ring holding wiper in other side does not. New cylinder is $600.00 I have put 4 sets of seals in it in 3 weeks. Buyin a new cylinder may be the best way to go at tihs point.

It too bad JD doesn't list the kit contents on the parts page. How long have you owned this baler??
I have owned it 2 years went to buy new one in 2010 and dealers friend had this one wtih 2500 rolls on it it now has 7700. It has been a great machine until this happened best baler I have owned I've had hesston, Vermeer, New Holland. like I said the 457 was a reat machine i just think this 467 is built to do more work.

It's odd with just 2500 bales when you bought it the tension cylinders are different. I agree that 467's are excellent rd balers and the best models JD built.
