'47 ford 2n starting problems

1947 ford 2n converted to 12 v. I have voltage to coil but no spark. replaced condenser and points with electronic ignition. still no spark to the plugs. I ohmed coil out and read 8.36 ohms seems kindof high. Its got to be coil not passing power if I'm thinking correctly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks

What is the electronic ignition you put on useing for a trigger? You might have to put the points back in. Post info for the electronic ignition you put in.

installed this electronic ignition. it was doing same thing before with points & condenser. had power to coil no spark

its a 12 v electronic ignition points replacement kit.

Did you replace the 6V coil when you converted to 12V? Was the ignition switch left on for any period of time before you replaced the points and condenser with the electronic ignition? Either one of those situations can result in a burned out coil, not visible on the exterior, damage is internal. I think that 8.3 ohms does sound a bit high for the primary, is there any continuity through the secondary winding?
I remember that when I converted my 8N to 12V I had to replace the coil and add another ballast resister to the primary power lead.

For the 2N, the 12V coil should have about 2.5 ohms internal resistance. (If the original 6V coil is used with a 12 volt conversion, it only has about 1.2 ohms resistance, so an additional external resistor is needed.)

Did you check for spark coming straight from the coil as apposed to coming from the spark plug. It would help narrow it down a little more.
