4720 E-PTO engine rpm won't rev over 1750rpm

My 5425 in epto setting - the eng will rev full 2600 rpm's.

I wanted this 4720 I jus bought, to rev a little over 1750 to speed up my rear finishing mower blades for a smoother cut.

I unplugged the rearward PTO sensor plug & plugged it into the forward sensor.

It now revs full rpm & illuminates the REGULAR PTO lamp when epto is engaged .

you better be careful doing that. That means you are spinning an implement that is built and rated to spin 540rpm a third faster than that. I sure wouldn't want that mower coming apart on my at that speed.

I knew I'd get flack for this lol.

I run a pulverizer a little faster like this in my poultry house litter.

I'm not talking but 200 or so engine rpm faster.

Your 5425 should not do that. There is a cable from the ePTO linkage that limits the injector pump to 1750 rpm range. It might be disconnected, broken, out of adjustment, or defeated.

?? It's revved WFO in E-pto since purchased new in 2008.

4720 Engine only runs 1750rpm "IF" EPTO lamp is illuminated

On my 4720,
I wired E-PTO & regular PTO sensors Together TO the harness that Originaly went to the rearward sensor.

Now, my regular 540 PTO lamp illuminates when "Either" PTO setting is engaged & the engine will run full rpm if desired.

Dealer must not have checked the ePTO at predelivery service. Just a cable and throttle limiter at the injection pump.
I was looking for a 5X25 series with a power reverser & ePTO. I wanted R1 tires.

I got tubes installed & fluid in all 4 tires today.
Hooked up my 110" Befco RFM.
Set the engine at 2,000 rpm's IN EPTO setting.
The mower cuts so much smoother now

Man what a great combination.
The Hydro trans is FINE for mowin.

Much better machine than my Older dated 4700 power reverser.
Owner couldn't be Happier.
