4720 mid-pto and front 3 pt

hello

I am considering a 4720, which shows a mid-PTO option...can it be utilized similar to the mid-PTO setup on the 3720? can you get a front 3pt hitch and then use a blower setup like the 59"Deere or something similar but larger from another mfg? Deere shows no options for the mid-pto nor the ability to use a front blower.

Really would like one but really want a front not rear blower (tired of backing up) does anyone know why they offer a mid-pto and what implements do work with it?

The mid PTO is designed for use with mid mount mowers primarily. I don't know why the front mount snow thrower isn't available for the 4000 series, there may be a risk that the 4000 series can overpower it so they didn't design a bracket? Or the PTO shaft would have to be too long?

A quick Google found this one that seems like it actually hooks to the rear PTO. That may be a cheaper solution since the rear PTO is much beefier and spins at a more appropriate 540 RPM instead of 2100 RPM at the mid (which will probably have to be geared down).

Deere doesn't appear to sell a blower big enough for the 4720. I suppose there hasn't been enough call for such an implement.

There have been some pull behind (tractor goes over the snow first) snow blower manufactured. The manufacturer I'm thinking of is Puma.
If you look on their site, you'll also see front blowers that should work on your tractor. Expect to pay some serious money for these though.

If the front mounted blower doesn't pan out and you end up looking at snow plows, I can tell you that a 96" hydraulic angle plow from most of the manufacturers will run you ~$3,000 +/-. That would assume QA or skid steer mounted. That would not include the required hydraulic port and hoses.
