4720 Top N Tilt & Rear valve

I am thinking of having my dealer put top n tilt on my 4720. What all needs to be added to do it? How much does it cost usually? I have a lot of dirt work I need to do - it looks like a must have.

Rear Valve - I am going to need a rear valve - what does it take to install it? I will have the dealer install it, but I am wonder about how the power beyond kit, hoses, etc, etc.

Educate me please!

Thanks for posting those pictures (and the question). I'm thinking of doing the same. Can you add a written description of what's depicted. I know a picture's worth a thousand words, but for some of us . . . OK maybe just me . . . I need a word or two to know what I'm lookingat .

I would think that what is needed is similar to 4310's. Do a search for "4310 top tilt"(or close to that) and you'll dig up a wealth of info. I don't think the power beyond is necesarily what you need. I think guys were buying Prince valves and hoses and mounting them various ways to the cylinders.

Install top and tilt cylinders where they go, then like in this picture run the hoses to the mid-SCV to control the top & tilt and have a dealer install a rear-SCV if you have a hydraulic box blade.

According to the Deere website, to get the top-n-tilt, you need the electric diverter kit. the reason for this (as I understand it) is that you need two hydraulic valves (one for the top, one for the tilt) at the rear of your tractor.

If you run the lines to the mid scvs it will work, but you won't be able to do that and have your loader attached at the same time. You'll need to disconnect your top-n-tilt any time the loader is on. Kind of a pain. I think you'd be better off to get the diverter kit.

It doesn't have to be the deere version though. There is a company called Fasse that makes one that's pretty slick. They even have a way to put the controls on your main joystick. The way I think that works is that you push a button on your joystick that selects which valve the joystick will control. Somebody jump in and tell me if I've got that mixed up cause I've never actually seen how it works.

The power beyond, as I understand it, is a separate deal altogether. It's a device the provides constant hyrdaulic pressure to your backhoe, like holding the lever open all the time. My dealer says they can make a little block to hold the valve open and it will work just as well as the power beyond kit for a lot less. I'm anxious to see if he's right about that.

the deere version is the same as you described ,it also uses the loader stick for the rear remotes,it works good until you forget which way the switch is turned i have this setup on my 4720
