JD 4720 and 5075M
We are thinking of trading in our TC35DA w/ FEL( hyrdo) for either a 4720 hydro or a 5325 JD ( 12x12), both w/ FEL. We need more power for a 3 -16" bottom plow ( currently 10 hp per plow) and 7 1/2 disk. Primary use will be mowing 30 acre's of hunt club fields, roads and food plots and plowing the same at least once a year. Soil is black dirt, sand and red clay and land is some what flat. I know heavier tractors plow better but we move it between two different clubs, so trailer wt is a Big factor. We are limited to 8500 lbs payload( tractor, ballest, FEL , 4in1 and Mower or disk). Plus 5525 is at least 6K more in cost. The wt difference is about 1300 lbs between the JD's.
Saying both tractors have the same tires and are with in 5 pto hp of each other will they move the plows about the same?
Thanks for opinions.

The 5325 will move the plow much faster because of weight and gear ratio. The 5325 is going to have taller gears and you will lose hp with the hydro as well. When it all plays out I would think you would lose more like 20 hp when you consider gears, weight, and the hydro issue.

Seems that If you sre trading from a TC35DA to get more power, you are already taking a hit because of an undersized machine. The 4720 might work, but you know that the 5325 definately will.

If you really need to save the weight, I'd look liong and hard at the 4520 reverser.
