Instead of using Deere's extension bar, make one like this. You can most likely find lifting weights just about anywhere, I got mine from K-mart for $20.00 per 100lb set. Used some 3/8"x2" flat bar, a 1&1/8" solid shaft, some 1" bearing lock collars and of course some paint. I can put on up to 135lbs. The only thing that I did not take into account when building this was the loader stand, brush guard off the tractor would take 9 20lb weights, but with the loader on it can only accept 9 15lb weights. Should have made the brackets stick out another inch (live and learn I guess). I also can take these weights off to use on my rear blade for some down pressure to the blade to make cleaning muddy areas a lot easier. Nice thing about these weights is the ability to add/remove ballast as needed for specific applications. And they take up virtually no storage space.
