48" Cat 0 box blade

I started drawing up my 48" Cat 0 box blade.
I'm sure the plan will change a few times before it's painted.
Like, will it be fine with 1/4" 4x4 angle to bolt the blades to or should I go with 3/8" or 1/2"
Bought the 48" blades from Agri Supply, order the scarifiers yesterday.
going shopping today to see what the salvage yard has for steel

also want to do a land plane/road grader with scarifiers and a driveway groomer

not counting the backhoe and hydraulic ZTR track drivetrain to set one of my Ariens frames on.

I made one very similar for by 16hp 4x4 Kubota B7100. 48" wide out of what I had lying around: 3/16" x 3" angle only for the cutting edge for awhile while I waited hoping to find a deal on a bolt on curved cutting edge. The 3/16 held up (didn't bend), but if I did it again I'd use 1/4". I recently gave up waiting and cut and welded on a 5/16 x 3 T-1 cutting edge to the angle... it should be plenty stout now, and will wear much longer. 1/2" for the angle would be way overkill unless you happen to have a piece and want to use it for the weight... I'd rather make it light enough to move around and get hitched up without needing a crane, and add weight as needed.

Thanks for the info. 1/4" will also save me some $$$$
Beings I figured the 17" scarifiers w/ 4 holes would give me more to play with as far as height above or depth below grade, those are what I bought.
Now I either need to change my plan or take them to work and drill a 5th hole in them.
I looked all over for a drawing of one but couldn't find any, so here is one for Agri Supply's 49684 SCARIFIER SHANK 17.88'' 4 HOLE
