What manufactor makes the best box blade?

My KingKutterXB boxblade works pretty good. Ive never broke anything on it but I niticed that if you use the teeth on sandy ground they wear out fast. Works great for dirt work, grading, etc.

I don't know about the best one, but I will say Leinbach has a nice 48" model. It is made by United. Very heavy for its size. 1/4" side plates, captured hitch pins, heavy scarifier tube. Look at my photo gallery and at Leinbachs website.

Be sure to check out Landpride. I have a 48" (BB1548) and am very pleased with both the build quality and the performance. Just like a well designed tractor, a well designed implement will let beginners get espert looking results. What are you pulling it with?

There is a lot of info on BB here in the forum. A quick search on "Box Blade" brought up 6 pages of threads!! However, for points to look for when buying there is no better thread (IMHO) than this thread by Bob Skurka, Box Blades.

Generally a better BB will have captured pins, heavier weight, reinforcing around scarifier mounting points, and bracing to the rear blade form the draw bar. Happy shopping!!

I have a john deere 4720 that I use to move dirt and level dirt, and I think FRONTIER has some of the best box blades. Not only are the strong and durable, they have many features, and they are just great attachments.

When I purchased my tractor it came with a 60" Armstrong Ag BB. I've been pleased with it so far. It's not the heavy duty one they carry, but has worked well for me and seems heavy enough. ArmstrongAg : Agricultural Equipment and Farm Products

Last weekend I bought a United BB 448HD for $350 in Alabama that Solo talked about. I live in Georgia. I am a brand new tractor owner so this will be a very limited experience reply, but I did do some research about 48" Box Blades before my purchase. There is a huge amount of information here and I am absorbing as much as I can, while I am learning and enjoying.

United has a standard duty and a heavy-duty 4 footer. The SD was a bit cheaper at $315 but I think that basically heavier is better from what I have read. My MF1523 is the smallest compact Massey and only 23HP but the box is just 315# if I remember correctly and so far it seems to be a good fit and a quality built product, as well as being just a few inches wider than my widest footprint, a big plus for me.

My United box has captured pins, not so heavy, a strong looking structure at the scarifier mounting points, and bracing to the rear blade. Close?

4 foot boxes were difficult for me to find locally, thus the drive to AL. I am happy so far with function and available in Red, as you can see.

I have a Woods BB and love it, moved 100's of tons of dirt without the slightest issue. I also know Landpride makes some really nice stuff. I think mine was around $400 for a 48" - not cheap but has replaceable blades and built HEAVY.
