JD 4410 eHydro & 430FEL w/ 4N1 bucket & pallet forks
My dealer suggested that the model 48 backhoe would be too much for the 4410 tractor (and recommends the 47BH as more suited). Curious to hear the experiences of those who have this combination. Thanks.

I have the 4410 with a 48 and find it perfect. I had pictures posted but was erased, this weekend more pictures.

Doesn't the Deere site list the 48 BH as appropriate for the 4410?

According to the JD equipment purchasing guide, the 48 is recommended for the 4300. 4400, 4410, 4500, 4510, 4600, 4610, 4700, 4710, 5105. and 5205. Note the 4310 is not on the list. If your subject is correct and you are asking about the 4310, then the dealer is correct. I have a 47 on a 4200, which is the smallest tractor that will take a JD backhoe. The 47 BH can throw the 4200 around a bit but it is tolerable. I would think the same would be true for the 4410 with a 48 BH but the extra reach and power would be worth it.

The JD 10-series brochure lists the 48 BH for 4310, 4410, 4510, 4610, and 4710. Conflicting information from JD? Say it aint's so /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Had the 4310 just over 1 year now... with 100+ happy hours on her, and probably 75 of those using the BH. The 48 is a perfect match for the tractor. In my opinion, The extra reach that the 48 provides is far more important than it's extra digging depth... you just plain old don't have to move the tractor as much which can be a big time saver and the extra power and reach height are also big plus's. I'm sure the 47 is a very nice BH but I say If you can afford the extra bucks go for the 48... you'll be glad you did!
Just my opinion /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My dealer also said I sould only consider the 47 for the 4310. I wondered if it was because he didnt have a 48 on hand and didn't want to lose the sale. In any case even my 47 can toss around the tractor a good amount.

I have a 47 BH for my 4200 and am very happy with it. One reason I'd like to move up a tractor size is so that I could go with the 48 BH for the extra reach and digging depth.

Generally speaking it's always advisable to go with the largest attachment that is available for your tractor. To do anything else is failing to utilize the full potential of your machine, and that's not why you bought it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the input. I think it makes sense to go with the 48BH if you can use the extra reach. It's a few pounds heavier than the 47BH, but if you don't have to move the tractor as much, that extra reach seems worth the extra $1000 or so. I doubt that Deere would list it as available if it was really too much for the 4310/4410 chassis.
