4-in-1 4in1

Here's a basic question for you -
What are the four functions of a 4in1 FEL bucket that make it a 4in1?
I understand that they are regular buckets and have jaws to lift logs, but what else?

Scraper for back grading with the apron open, dozer, grapple and a clambucket. And one you use one a few times youll not want to be without lol.

The first use is the most obvious. It's a regular bucket. You also have the grabbing/pulling action of the opening for picking up brush, branches, etc. With the opening opened to it's widest point you can use it like a plow blade (like an old 2-way snow blade). Lastly, you can use it kind of like a box blade to level things out. Those are your four functions. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

There are some disadvantage to having one, also. While it will do four things, it will do none of them as well as the individual attachment designed solely for that purpose would. Also, they tend to weigh 100-200 lbs more than a regular bucket of the same strength and size so your load carrying capacity is going to be reduced by that much. On a compact tractor that can become a sizeable percentage. Lastly, beyond the fact they aren't cheap, you generally need additional hydraulics to operate them.

As someone who just was asking this same question, I can understand how it may be difficult to visualize. This weekend when I go back up to where my tractor is, I will take a bunch of pictures and post them. This topic is quite often discussed, but with few pictures around of the actual functions, it makes it tough to really know how useful it is.

Can you share the brand name and approx cost of your 4in1?
