4WD front axle loose

Hello everyone, I loaned my baby (3810D) to a neighbor and it came back wounded and its my fault for loaning it out. I should have volunteered to drive it . I know better! Anyway that is not what I wanted to say in this forum.
There is a loud clunk coming from front axle when I turn the steering wheel left to right. The whole axle moves front to rear about 1/4" or more. There is a lot of spent greese dripping off tyrod on ground from a gap in driveshaft
to front axle housing both in front of and rear of.
I tryed to tighten the 4 bolts that hold outer shaft tube and flat plate in front without sucess It kinda looks like some gaskets came out or maybe some shims. Those bolts are too short to suck it up when tightened?
The manuals I have basicly just show pictures. Anyone ever tackle this before?

Seems to be an old and new style according to Hoye drawings although both seem to share the same pivot parts. Are all the bolts tight on the #15 pivot housings where they bolt to the frame? Maybe someone on here has a repair manual on it. Yanmar Tractor Parts: 4WD EXTERNAL -NEW

Yes Winston those bolts are as big as my wrench set goes (22mm) and they are very tight!

If your's is like mine , there are a couple grease fittings @ what appears to be bearings.Maybe something in that area is bad . I have a 336D manual If there's anything I can look up for you let me know and I'll see if I can find it in the manual I have

Can you take a few pics for us? Sounds like the pivot bushings or maybe they are a bearing? I have never researched what is in there fwtw went bad.

I have a 3810d and a 336 manual so if I can help with pics of mine or anything let me know. 3110 and 336 should all be the same but that's always been my understanding its not 100% proven yet. hth

I have the exploded drawings that Winston and Kenmac sent me. It looks like there are some horse shoe shaped shims that are in there?
I make a point of not paying someone to do something I can do myself. I will take pictures,I will take this mess apart, order the parts I need, and fix my baby up like new!
I'm not familiar with sending pictures, but maybe I can get my wife to help? I also think I should check other Forums first. I'm an old retired guy who has the time. ya rite!

dirty Doug, you may already know it but just in case, the drawings kenmac and I attached are at hoyes on line parts sight. You can go there and click on each particular part. Not all will pull up showing description or whether they actually stock the items but some will. I bet you can figure it out and make repairs as needed.

You will notice when you go there that the 3810 evidently has an old and new style. You will need to determine just what you have in order to look at the correct drawings.

I must have the old style.I have replaced the seal there and I didn't have any wear collars
