Try rock tractor...turning wheels back forth..tractor has front loader down pressure until front wheel off the ground.

Any resistance on the lever? I would start by crawling under the tractor and check the linkages.

Broken roll pin? If lever is moving and not engaging.
I looked under the tractor. Linkage attached. Should i unhook the linkage and try turning the shift manually. With tractor off of course.

If your linkage is moving the shaft like it is designed to, I would next uncover your driveshaft and gearbox output shaft and examine -Some simple testing here will allow you to determine if the issue is in the gearbox vs driveshaft vs front diff/axle

Use the bucket to lift the front end, then see if it engages.

Good idea to take the load off the front end.
