I am seriously considering a 4520 cab to replace my 4720 open station. My dealer does not have one for me to try on. I have a 5525 cab and love it. JD has the best cabs it seems. There is only so much room to work with in the 4x20.

I remember some pics that were posted of a 4720 cab when it first came out on here. With annotations of the controls, etc. I can't find the thread.

I wish there was room for a training seat.

OK all you 4x20 cab owners - tell how it is.

Thanks,
D.

Yeah, you should have gotten that cab to begin with like you wanted!! Glad you can make the plunge now. Why the down grade in power?

I really like the cab set up...BUT...it is pretty tight. the dog can barely fit in with me and operate the brakes and hst. Get the seat upgrade as well unless you like the bouncy feeling. Heat and AC are great. Every thing is pretty user friendly, just do not expect to stretch out all that much, i am 6'1" and 222. Maybe they made it a little tight to discourage passengers (?)

As 4720 said, the cab is a bit tight. There won't be any buddy seat available in that cab. :D I compared the 5525 cab to the 4720 before I bought. The 4720 is great, but I needed a larger frame tractor and I wanted the buddy seat so one of my kids could go with me. I think the 4720 cab seemed just a tad smaller than the cab on the Kubota 5030HSTC I had. So, other than being small, in my opinion, the cab is great.

I looked at the power requirements and I really don't need the power of thr 4720. I am looking at running my fence mower, a wood chipper, MX-6, pull a hay rake, etc. Nothing really off the chart. Also, if you need more power than that, the 4x20 isn't really heavy enough to handle it. I have the 5525 cab, so I am covered for larger anyway.

Also, it was cheaper money wise. A 4320 would probably do everything i need, but it was only $1K to upgrade to a 4520. The 4720 was $2500 more than the 4520. So, a 4520 seems to fit the bill.

I don't know what kind of dog you have, but my black lab (not that big can ride in my 5525 cab with me, but if I need to use the clutch much - she has to go.

I am thinking no passengers in it. Who knows how much I will use it, my wife will be in it more than myself I suspect. Also, the kids will be able to drive that tractor sooner than a Power Reverser. So, I need to get the most money out of my 4720 and get it done.
