Oh, and CrawleyBP, you must have jinxed me......my tractor came in today....with the wrong tires, as well !!! LOL
Mine came with Turf tires. Dealer said this is their first time to have an order come in wrong. Luckily they still have a R3039 in stock, so they can just switch the wheels out.

I have a 6 foot BB on my JD 3038e which is the same HP but 700 lbs lighter than your LS. I use it almost exclusively for grading a gravel drive. It works well unless I go up my steep hill on the drive. There it can only pull a half box full. I will probably seek a trade with someone to downsize eventually to a 66 or 60 inch blade so I can work easier. But it does pull a full BB with gravel - on the flat or downhill.

I cant believe that....it almost seems impossible that it would happen to both of us. Glad they were able to find a quick fix. Sorry for the bad vibes, lol. They got the tires in and im going to pick mine up today!!! The sad part about having to wait a month on this tractor is that the factory is in NC??? I hope it was worth the wait!

I would go with the 5 footer, you won't have enough umph when it's full to fully utilize the blade. If you need more weight hang some weight from it.

You're getting a lot of opinions but my Ford with 32 hp pulls a 6 footer uphill pretty good.

I actually ended up going with the six footer, and glad I did. I took a run up the drive the morning after a good rain. I pulled a box of wet gravel, and had gravel spilling over the back, tractor didn't flinch! I have a picture of this that I will post.

Here's a picture of my brother trying out my new tractor. He was amazed at how easily it pulled a full load of damp gravel. As you can see, it was pouring over the top! 2012-07-04 08.07.26.jpg

That reminds me of our driveway. Every time it rains I have to drag that expensive gravel back uphill where it belongs. Glad you are happy with the new tractor and blade.
