2009 Mahindra 3316 HST-2008 Mahindra 7010 cab - 2004 Mahindra 6000 4X4
I see Mahindra has changed their warranty to 2 year bumper to bumper and 5 year powertrain. Also read they will be offering for purchase the new warranty for some tractors purchased previously (Oct 2008 to Sep 2009).
Leaves me out in the cold on the 7010 but thinking maybe I should pick up the warranty for the 3316.

I'm thinking the same thing for my 3215. Called my dealer yesterday, but they had no pricing yet.:( He said that he would call me when he knew how much it would be. You would think that Mahindra would give the dealers the info before they announced these things. Reminds me of the 8560, and we are still waiting for the cab version.:(

Couldn't agree more. The dealers should know this stuff before they announce it!
We were talking today about the possibility of trading (7010) to pick up a warranty. I honestly think if I trade I will get away from Mahindra. My dealer just picked up the Massey Ferguson line. I gave up on the 8560 cab last year. Right now I just want the 3316 back so I can clean out the chicken houses but I'm seriously doubting the engine will arrive and be installed in a week. I'm not looking forward to renting a skid steer or asking the dealer for a loaner.

Not so sure I'm in the 98% anymore!

I have to say that I believe that the tractors made in India are of better quality. My 3215 seems to be good, but I have not really worked it all that hard for very many days yet. As far as your 7010, I am very sorry about it. I have only looked at the Montana version and it looked to be a nice machine to me, and the guy that bought it a few ears ago is still using it with his cattle operation. I have been assured that the cab 8560 is going to be at the Tulare AG Show next Feb. Do you have some other nearby dealers that you might be happy with? The Masseys do look to be nice machines, but if you get all the goodies, they are biiiiig $$$$$.

As far as the skid steer or loner tractor, maybe he will give you a deal on a rental if you have to go that way. I would definitely look at other dealers also, your dealer sounds ok, but I think that he should have and could have helped you out more than he has.

Good luck

Two year bumper to bumper warranty? I was told my 6520 has a 3 year warranty with 2 years on the loader and backhoe. I will ask my dealer if I can get mine extended, even as it was delivered in April of 2007. My dealer has lost their Massey Ferguson line and picked up some blue tractor that I can't remember and also I saw a cabbed TYM there on a drive by the other day.
hugs, Brandi

Mahindra's previous warranty was 1 year bumper to bumper and 3 years on the powertrain. Not sure what the backhoe and loader warranties are or were.
I sure wish Mahindra would throw us older customers a bone and let us pick up a waranty. I certainly would grab the warranty for the 7010!

I would agree that the Indian made Mahindra's are the best! Going on 7 years with the 6000 and only one real breakage, the clutch. I've always said that's as much my fault as anyones. NEVER loan equipment, it always comes back damaged. The 7010 is not a terrible tractor. If I used it only for ag use and called out the 6000 for the really rough stuff it would be fine. Actually since the support has been added to the wheels I haven't had major problems. I still need to fix the tie rod ends, but that's minor. I just live in fear of what is around the corner after the engine block cracking on the 3316.
I have seen the price tag on the Massey's. WOW! I'm sure they are fine machines but they are priced higher than even Deere. My dealer doesn't rent equipment, so it's a loaner or nothing. He has given the neighbor a loaner the times his has been in the shop and he spent alot less than I have. Got my fingers crossed since in our last conversation he assured me it shouldn't be a problem for the 3316 to be fixed by Oct 13.

Joel, I have to ask, what other than AG use have you been using the 7010 for?

During the construction of the poultry houses it got the job of hauling, lifting, moving, etc.. It was being used to move and spread several hundred tons of rock, stand feed bins, unload pallets of materials, etc.. Now I would use it ocasionally to load dirt, rock, and logs except I think I'm much better off using the 6000 when I can. The front end is the weak link in my opinion. Seems every time I use the loader to do much of anything I break something.

Oh. Ok. That must be it.
