Is anyone running syntethic in there TZ / TC's? Got a bunch of it for my trucks and they seem to run fine with it. I typically use Mobil delvac . Or should I just buy the ambra 10W30?

Also.. quick update on the tractor. 48.2 hours since mid june, mostly mowing and some small landscaping projects. Works great and very satisified with my purchase. Waiting for the snow to fly to see how it handles snow removal duty. Still shocked in how little fuel it uses; I don't think it's used more than 15 gallons so far since I got it.

Use of any diesel rated oil is fine.

I use 5W-30 Amsoil & love it. Much better than regular Diesel Oil. My oil stays clean all winter & summer & is now just starting to yellow. 2nd season using it. Only one change a year. Now of course I only put on 50 to 75 hours a year so granted....oil will stay cleaner. On the flip side, I worked the tractor really hard this year doing landscape work & thought for sure it would make a difference but it did'nt. Amsoil is definitely worth the extra money.

You can go the route alot of TBN'ers & just use regular diesel rated oil but will probably be changing twice a year.

Just make sure the synthetic is deisel rated. My TC 29 has Lucas synthetic in it for 200 hours. No problems so far.

So far I tried Ambra 0W40 and Castrol Syntec 5W40. Didn't see any difference and tractor never burnes any oil between the changes.

I put Delvac one synthetic in my Ford 1910 at 50 hours and have run it ever since. Still runs like new at 1200 hours.

Just don't ask the same question in the "Oil, Fuels & Lubricants" forum. You're a fresh TBN member and might not be ready for the passion expressed there.:p

Pick your favorite brand oil as long as it is API C category rated and you will be fine.

I have used Delvac one synthetic in two powerstroke super-dutys and gotten well over 200,000 miles on both before I got rid of them with zero issues. That was my intention to use it in the TZ as well.

Wish all forum's where this helpful ;)

While I do run synthetic in the 40D you might want to wait for your second oil change to make the switch. If the rings aren't yet completely seated the synthetic oil isn't going to help that condition. Why take that chance?
