Do you have the part number or such for the AMSOIL you are using? Is it the
same oil for engine/trans/axle ? As permatron is meant for all.... thanks
Amsoil makes a synthetic diesel oil that has a TBN even higher than Rotella and is a better lubricant at lower temperatures. All the specs are better than any oil.
They also make a hydraulic trans oil that replaces Permatran. The engine oil is different than the oil in the trans. The trans oil goes in the front axle too.
Amsoil guarantees that you will not void your warranty using their products. They exceed the requirements that are specified in your manuals. You can get more info at their web site. I don't know the address off hand, Google Amsoil. They also have techs that you can answer questions, if you have any about their products.
I will post the exact products I use Sunday, (busy tomorrow).
Of course the dealer is going to try and either convince or scare you into supporting his operation. You have no obligation to him, he is obligated to you.
You just spent 15+K with him! He will be there to stick it too you when you need parts. Wait until you see what some of these parts cost you will not believe it.
Do you own service! The 50hr. is a simple chance to get to know your tractor and check it over in a way only the someone with 15+K invested would do.
The whole job will take about an hour or so and you will save about 50% or more. You can do it yourself with synthetic oil which costs about twice as much, and still be cheaper than they would charge with mineral oil.
Look for loose screws, the grease fittings that they missed on initial prep, check the hydraulic hoses for rubbing on things. One place I have seen on several units is the inside front of the right rear tire.
The hoses are routed along the frame. If they are not placed exactly right the tire will rub on them and they will fail eventually.
