Just did my initial motor oil and hydraulic oil change on my Kubota 500. What a pain in the A--! Had to use a Stilson to get the oil filter off. If you follow the instructions and "park on a flat surface" when you remove either oil plug, there is no room to put an oil pan under the unit to catch the oil, thus oil everywhere. Next time, up in the air she goes. I have changed oil a thousand times on cars and trucks and don't know why I followed the directions this time. The hydraulic oil plug is something in the range of a 24MM nut. Who has one of those? Used a 1 1/8" SAE. It came loose but was not a good fit. The two hydro filters were not too bad but both were a tight fit for my big ole hands. The only positive I saw in the whole process is that the next change is at like 200 hours. No more than I use the thing and that will be like four years!! Overall I am happy with Mr. Moto( my unit's nickname). Hunting season is right around the corner and will be putting him thru the paces.
