Tractor
Allis Chalmers 616 (Two) and a Kioti CK30 HST with loader and backhoe
Well, just got my 50 hour service done at the dealer on the DK30. Cost me about $380.00.
Ouch.

I'm not unhappy about it though. I figured I would bite the bullet for the 50 hr and do the rest myself after that. The tractor is a big investment so I feel better this way for some reason (although lighter in the wallet).

Yeah, I remember that thread. Too bad it got closed.

Regarding your job list, it's exciting to think of spring isn't it.

I guess the dealer service cost me about $100 more than if I did it myself due to the labour cost. On the other hand, I'm trying to build a relationship with them and as an example they are chainsaw dealers too (Husqvarna). Well, my Husqvarna saw acted up yesterday and I could not figure out what was wrong. They worked on it for a half hour and fixed it up great (loose wire short) for free. So there is some give and some take.

Now you've inspired me, I'm going to make my spring job list!

Great example of how your spending some money up front with them has already paid off.

Sign of a good dealer.

Great feeling to get that saw taken care of I bet.

Mine sells husky stuff too,and cubcadet,but...I just bought a snapper lawnmower a few weeks ago![after research, decided it was a better mower than either husky or cub in my price range]

Next saw I buy it might be a husky, but doubt it,the last one I bought is an echo.

Place I bought the snapper off of works on snappers and echo and....everything else!

Which dealer Jimmy? PM if you wish. That is not a bad price. The 50 hour service does involve a lot of work, so if you did not have the time, or did not want to tackle it yourself, then do not feel guilty. At least you can do your homework, and do the rest of the services your self if you want. Building a good relationship with a deraler has benefits too.

Hi WilliamBos.

I don't think the dealer would mind if I posted the name. It was Lakeridge Equipment just outside of Uxbridge - Dick and Tom Ott.

They are a new dealership but have a strong history in the area and good reputation. It sure is a tough time for a new equipment company to start out with this economy and them being so close to Oshawa and the GM plant. A lot of the guys up here where I live (NE of Toronto) are GM workers. I try and buy whatever I need from local businesses to do my part.

I am sure I could have done the service myself, but the throught of making an error on the crucial 50 hr service gave me a bit of the jitters too. I do all my own oil changes on my cars and stuff and of course there is a limit to what a fella can afford. I am sure if I was a lifer with tractors I would not have given it a second thought. But this is the first and probably only time I will ever buy one brand new and man, it's my BABY!

Changing the oils and filters[mines a gear drive] was easy as could be.
Air filter is easy to check clean, raditiator screens are easy to take out when you need to clean and blow out raditiator.

Only thing I ain't done is fuel filter, anybody change theirs and got any pointers on that? do you need to do any special air purging?
