:) Did my 50 hr service yesterday, replaced all filters and fluids. I was surprise at the metal shavings on the magnetic drain plug! Made adjustments as necessary. Not difficult but did take most of the morning to finish. Now I know the little beast better than I did before and saved some money.

were the details of the service covered in a manual. Buying a shop manual and hope they cover that kind of stuff, or at least what is recommended for a particular service. Thanks

I've been reading here about the large amount of metal shavings at first HST oil change, so around 10 or 20 hrs I put strong magnets on the outside of each of the two hydraulic filters.

When I changed the hydraulic oil recently there were no shavings or chips on the Kioti CK30HST's big drain plug, just a small amount of magnetic sludge.

Could be the magnets worked?

The magnets might be the cause if it is your first change. There isn't nearly as much after the initial wearing in period. I'd be a little worried about holding up the particles in the wrong location. In the sump, they are out of the flow path instead of trying to restrict it. Also, it seems like you would have to be able to keep the magnets on while you were removing the filters or else you would release all of the filing belore getting them out.

I found the 50 hr service to be fairly simple and the Owners Manual covered it adequately. Pull the plugs/filters, drain fluids, replace plugs/filters, fill with new fluids, squirt some grease how hard can it be? Oh yeah, dealing with 7+ gallons of used Hydro fluid and finding all those elusive grease zerks! I took my time with it last fall, getting to know the machine and all and had a pretty good time with it.

I wouldn't be alarmed at the metal flakes on the magnets, to my knowledge it completly normal on the break-in service. Now if you see same on subsequent services I'd be more concerned.

Does anyone actually have the full shop manual? Is it worth having?

I've got it. It is sort of a mixed message. Confusing Korenglish is a few places, but it has good wiring and hydraulic diagrams and overall, I think it is good to have. As to if it's worth $100, that's another question. I suspect that I will think it is if it allows me to solve a problem that I would otherwise have to pay the dealer to solve. So far (97 hours), I haven't had any need for it - tractor is good as gold.
