5000 series snowblower

Greetings,

Has anyone checked on pricing for the front mounted snowthrower for the 5000 series. I did some checking back in May and it was around $3000 + to get alll that was required.

I know lots of guys swear by the three point blower, I have some neck problems that I'm sure would be agravated by that posture?

Well, actually my neck problem is that my neck is the same age as the rest of my body and it don't like doin a 180!

I would say since you have the 1872 with the blower already you dont need the blower for the 5000 ...save yourself $3G which could be applied to something you need - maybe a trailer ? I have my 3204 with a cab and front blower, and at this juncture dont have the desire to equip my JD 4100 with a front blower. I would rather apply the money for a backhoe or something not already solved with multiple machines..

Brings back fond memories. The winter of 1995 I lived in Sault Ste. Marie MI. We had three back to back blizzards. Over 200 inches of snow that year. I decided then to move further south.

Called the chamber of commerce where I presently live. Asked them if I would need my snow thrower. They asked what a snow thrower was. Decided that was the place for me.

I do sometimes wish I could blow snow again.

I've got kinda the same delima.
I have a 54" Pronovost on the rear of my CC 6284. Albeit the machine works great, I too am tired of looking backwards...
I'd like very much to hang a blower on the front but the $'s seem a little high /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
I can envision spending a bunch on the blower and then we'll get no snow for a few yrs. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif ( My Wife says if that's the case... go for it !)

Hey Duc,

I know that's the right answer, I't my paranoia about the blower/PTO/tractor failing and not really having a backup.

It would make a ton more sense to buy a backblade for the 5252, but those blowers are just so much more fun to operate....and when we get huge snows, nothing beats a blower.

Nobody called me on my mislabeling of tractors, the picture is of an 1862 that I sold in the spring. This year, the blower is on the 1872.

OhioGuy, I use a 6' King Kutter rear blade on my 5234D and it works great. I can't justify spending $3000 on a snowblower that will only be used maybe a dozen times a year. I scrape a 500' driveway with a large parking area.
