Has anyone heard any noises about when John Deere is going to bring out Tier III engines in the 5025 series? I am comparing a 5425 with a Case JXU 85. The 5425 is the cheaper tractor and probably has the better cab and ergonomics. Both have the splitter 24X24 gearbox. The Case tractor, however, has an upgraded engine with an intercooler and a claimed 360NM of torque at 1400rpm, compared with I think 282NM (could only find that on the Nebraska test) for the JD. I reckon I'd nearly be better of going with 12X12 gearbox with the extra torque in the JXU... unless Deere brings out a comparible engine in the near future.

Look at Deere's new 5M series, it is replacing the 5X25 series....

For the extra power did you look at the 5525 or 5625?
