Kabota 5030L
I have a 5030L HST my employee was driving it and the engine just died, when looking the tractor over I noticed a broke fitting on the hydraulic gannon. We repaired that and add oil but the engine still wont start. When you turn the key tou get a disply on the dash that reads HST, and no click of the starter. any help would be great. thnks

Sounds like an HST pedal depressed some? Or one of the other safety switches.

maybe cruse control lever is pushed up...needs to be all way back to start
maybe PTO engaged

Only suggestion I have is to turn the key on, keep it on and start rocking the pedal and other controls, look under it for any bent control rods/linkage/cables or damaged wires, if that doesn't do it. My last option would be to bypass and start from the starter if you are familiar with how to do this; may help short term to isolate the problem area.

Does the engine turn over. If it does not, listen to the starter and see if you hear the bendex come out (1 single click, not the traditiona click click click of a low battery). Depending on how low the hydro fluid was, you may have seized the hydro pump, causing the engine to die (pump is direct drive off the engine). If this was the case, then the engine could not re-start.

thanks for the suggestions after paying for the kabota dealer to send a mechanic out( he diagnosed the problem as a shorted out control module)I went up and started checking fuses I found a fuse that had corroded terminals cleaned them off and it started up. I hope that was the only problem.

So, there were two problems?? A control module was shorted out plus corrosion on a fuse??

Am assuming control module was replaced and there was still a problem which you resolved by getting corrosion off of a good fuse to allow completion of the circuit?

Or, was fuse blown?

Thanks for posting back so we know how the resolution came about.

My 5030 has not had fuse problems...or really any other failure...hope it doesn't...I have a cab so maybe that provides protection to fuse box, etc.

I have a 4330 HST, same general iron as yours and there is a somewhat fragile switch that signals the position of the HST pedal...I've replaced once or twice. Never had fuse problems...if you saw corrosion, I would opt for some dielectric grease.

Glad you're back in service

No I didn't let them replace the module, I was waiting for the truck to pick up the tractor when I noticed the corrosion .
