First of all, WELCOME to TBN!!
There have been quite a number of posts recently on the new M series tractors. I think most have been for larger models, but you should be able to search or spend some time looking over the posts from the last few weeks and find something. I believe the M5040 with Kubota LA1153 loader was in the 26-27k range when it was discussed here at one point.

The new M5040 is 50.5/45 h.p. The physical size is mostly the same as the 6040 & 7040. When I started pricing I think the 5040 w/loader was right @ 26,000 and they seemed to progress in about 1,600 dollar intervals for the next two models.

Drooled over one last night with the kids. Man you have to love when the girls just go start sitting on tractors and flipping switches and asking questions.
The one I saw was looked like HST with FEL at 27k and some change.
I need to go back and really have a better look at it.

I've had mine almost three weeks. I was hurt on the farm the weekend it was delivered and last weekend was the first time I've had a chance to use it much. So far I am very impressed with it. I had a M5400 for probably 10 years or so then traded it for a m95 last year. Then unexpectedly I moved to a much small piece of property and the m95 was too large to fit down alot of the roads so I traded it in on the 5040.
It handles my 7' bush hog just fine. So far that is the only attachment I have used on it(other than the loader). I am planning on going out one day this week to put on the box blade and hyd. top link to do a little grading on an area that I have been working. So far it has proven itself to be a good little tractor.
