Seen a lot on here about spongy brakes. I'm on the other side of the spectrum. Occasionally my brake petals lock will not move until you press them a second time. Anyone else run into this problem? Also, has anyone got a good answer on the caution light coming on for no apparent reason?

I've got a 2011 model 5075M. Pretty close to 500hrs. Never had my brakes do that. Have you crawled under the rear of the tractor to see if the linkage is bent or binding somewhere? Do you brakes drag and or ever get hot?

No the brakes never drag or get hot.Dealers mechanic came and checked it out and couldn't find any problems. Also wouldn't do it when he drove it around. Have noticed it does it more when you don't use the brakes as much such as tedding or raking in the open field. It's almost like it builds pressure on the petal and won't let it release till you hit it the second time. Mine is a 2013 model with cab and 553 FEL.

I wonder if the brake disk pull-off springs are getting weak or if brake pedals are out of correct adjustment?

The tractor only has 270 hours now and its been doing this for a while so I hope its not the springs. The mechanic checked out all the adjustments. The dealer has great knowledgeable people who's #1 goal is customer satisfaction. They do have a case opened with d tech to find out if deere can solve this.

Mine has been doing that from day one. Like you said if you use the brakes a lot they work fine. I do a lot of grass cutting and don't use the brakes as much. I have to tap the brakes twice, then it fine.

Sampey--I'm interested in the tire deal but need to think it over. The increase height could make it impossible to get into my conex box garage.

I have read here about the caution light that if you don't use the clutch when you take it out of park it could throw a caution light. I try to remember to do it and haven't had it come on again since. This is on PR tractors I'm talking about.

Brett

Just let me know. I have about 200 hrs on my tractor with little use on hard packed or road use. What's your email so I can send you a few pictures of the tires.

Caution light will come on driving through the field or sitting in the barnyard idleing with no one in the cab. Ihave had the light come on when changing gear etc. but it will do it anytime. This is also the pr trans.
