This photo is for fishpharmer...this is the best pic I have of my hay fork/spear. This implement can be used as both and I would suggest getting this over a separate fork and spear.

Thanks for the pic TripleMoutdoors.

The forks look like they would work well for general hay moving. I am leaning toward pallet forks to move lumber and a seperate bale spear. The reason I think I need a hay spear is for loading hay on a gooseneck trailer, the pallet type forks on the bottom of the bale may dig in the wood deck. They might not if I am very careful, I am loading 4'x5' bales. Also, If the hay is stacked, will the forks damage the net wrap?

What do you think?

Thanks

When I load a gooseneck or move the bales I spear in the top third of the bale. When I'm loading on top (double stack) I spear the bale in the bottom third of the bale. My spears are movable just like forks. I can pick up a pallet or a load of lumber if blocked up.

You spear the bale...so you are not near the wrap.
